Adult Modern & Creative Dance Classes

Tanner Dance Adult Classes are for dancers of all ages and levels of dance experience.  The class is designed to build a strong core, strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, agility, control and grace.  Classes include floor and/or barre work based on modern dance and ballet technique as well as Hatha yoga and Pilates. The class also includes moving through space and work in the creative process.  Participants learn combinations and create their own movement as they choreograph dances.

Adult MELT and Modern Dance Class

MELT has been described as the “Art of Self Care”.  Over time MELT heightens your body’s ability to repair and heal itself, which can create remarkable, lasting changes. MELT offers natural pain relief, addressing the true cause of pain, not just the symptoms. Using the MELT Length and Melt Hand and Foot, along with dance techniques, this class encourages strength, re-balances the autopilot, establishes the mind and body connection, increases range of motion, and introduces the joy of dancing.  This hour long class is especially designed for everyone over the age of 18 who would like to breath more deeply, stronger, longer…and dance a better dance. Instructor: Anne Conrad

Visual Art

Art FUNdamentals: Adults

Enjoy a leisurely morning discovering the FUNdamentals of Art and reigniting your creativity. This course will be a sampler in basic art processes. We will learn about drawing, watercolor painting, acrylic painting and color pencil. Along the way, we will talk about where to look for inspiration for our artwork and discuss ways to become involved in the local arts community. Tuition includes materials fees. Instructor: Erin Davis

Qigong

Qi (chee) is defined as life force energy; gong is defined as exercise. Put it together and Qigong is a Chinese practice that exercises your life force energy. The practice uses movements and postures to integrate Chinese acupressure points, meridians, and internal organs in a mindful and meditative way. Students of any age or ability level can take this class and they can do it seated or standing. Co-sponsored with University of Utah Lifelong Learning.
